DENSE CONCRETE COURSING BRICKS

Concrete Common units also known as ‘frogged bricks’ are coursing bricks which are designed to work in conjunction with Thomas Armstrong’s Dense Concrete Blocks for applications above and below damp-proof course (DPC).

Our concrete coursing bricks are designed for infill around openings and adjustment of coursing heights conveniently reducing the need to cut down whole blocks, resulting in saving time and waste. All Concrete Common Bricks are frogged and are manufactured using high-quality, locally sourced raw materials.

Concrete Common bricks possess low drying shrinkage, very high load-bearing capacity so are ideally suited for accepting renders and finishes. Their use ensures a continuity of material type throughout the build helping to avoid differential movement problems and maximise thermal performance.

Concrete Common bricks are manufactured to BS EN 771-3 and are ISO 9001 Quality Assured, ISO 14001 Environmentally Certified and hold BES 6001 ‘Excellent’.

APPLICATIONS

  • Inner and Outer leaves of cavity walls over 3 storeys.
  • Internal partition walls.
  • Acoustic separating walls to Part E of the Building regulations and Robust Details.
  • ‘Standard’ texture finish provides an excellent surface for mortars, renders and plasters.
  • Foundation walls below damp-proof course (DPC).
  • BRE Green Guide A+ rated walls.

DISCLAIMER

The block and texture images are intended for indicative purposes only and actual textures and shades may vary between manufacturing locations. Please contact your regional sales office for further information and sample blocks. We advise the construction of sample panels on site as masonry appearance cannot be appreciated from individual blocks.

KEY ADVANTAGES

  • Low drying shrinkage.
  • Very high load-bearing capacity.
  • Range of thickness available to suit most typical wall types.
  • Work in conjunction with our Dense Concrete Blocks.
  • Reduce the need to cut down whole blocks, resulting in saving time and waste.
  • Help to avoid differential movement problems and maximise thermal performance.
